GIG! Crack Sunday at Hoagie Barmichael's on Thursday night - 7/28/05. We play at 10, I have no idea what the cover is, but this is an all-ages show. This will be one of my last gigs with this band, so you better come see!

Turkey Day! 2004

Norm says:
"Several songs in the works, a recording on the way...very...slow....ly, and the holidays are almost over so we can concentrate on getting a gig (like it's been that hard); things are going well for only having practice twice as a full band over the last month and a half. I was hoping that we would have the album done by Christmas so I could give them as gifts (I'm cheap, I know). Oh well, back to the drawing board for gifts. Once the album is out, it's time to gig like the wind and that's what I'm looking foward to. We haven't played live in a while, and the last time we played I didn't feel like I played my best. I want to wash that memory out and replace it with a kick ass night. If you are reading this, make sure you let us know that you were here by signing up on the email list. Just click the EMAIL link and send us a note. We will make sure you here about the next gig, as it should be the CD release party! Take care, everyone and hope to see you soon."

Not much to tell right now. After recording 2 1/2 songs 2 weeks ago, the sessions got placed on hold while life interceded. Maybe sometime this weekend; I need to get in touch with Pat.

Norm, Rich, and I (Noel) worked the ticket booth at the Ozzfest on Saturday. We made it in to see most of the main-stage acts. All three of us got to see Slayer. I know that listening to our music you can't really pick up that we're Slayer fans, but we are, and we had a bad-ass time. In fact, aside from us and 5 drunk guys behind us, the crowd didn't seem to be all that into it. They'd cheer after each song, but no headbanging or mosh-pitting was happening. Rich saw Judas Priest and he and Norm saw a little of Sabbath. I was a little burnt out after Slayer, but I wish I had gone in to see the Sabs as Bill Ward was (unexpectedly) playing with them.

Rich was out last night, so we worked on an old abandoned song, and discussed graphics both for the redesign of this site and for the upcoming ep.

Holy crap! I'm recording this Sunday! In the meantime, I need to:

NO, we couldn't let it go at that.

Seth found this review of the show. Apparently our set was 'weak' and our music 'dissonant'. Whatever. The Gypsey Lounge show went great! For the second time ever, the band after us was amazing. They're called the Dollyrots. Check 'em out!

We have a gig at the Gypsey Lounge this Saturday: May 22. We're opening, so 8:00.

Drum and keyboard tracks have been laid down on 6 songs for the upcoming CS ep. Recording should be done by mid June *knocking on wood here*

We have been asked to play at Blister's CD release party at Hogue Barmichael's on Saturday, September 8. Blister has been attracting label attention, and they've been practicing constantly! I've noticed a marked improvement in their playing in just the last two weeks. I'm looking forward to the show: We're two great bands... It should be a great show. See you there!

Again, as I say, there's a new guy in the band and it's me. Click on my bio or go to my web page to get very little more information on me. On May 10, I played my first gig with CS at the Gypsy Lounge and it was GREAT--my first time on stage in years. I know one of my friends took at least one picture, so I'll try to get it posted here.

Anyway, we opened for the fabulous MANPLANET. THEY HAD FIRE! That's about all I can say that can do them justice. The other bands that played have been forgotten--typical white, middle-class angst. Certainly are a lot of angry rich kids in OC... Oh well, I guess I was punk once.

In other news, we've been concentrating on writing new material. Norm and I are discovering that any combination of the two of us writing on the same song means everyone needs to learn a lot of notes. No one will ever accuse us of being minimalist, that's for sure.

As well, the bulk of the '4-song ep' is up at mp3.com; go to the "Songs" page for the link. I would certainly like to do some recording soon, and while I have the equipment to do it, the practice space is not the best recording studio I could imagine. I'll figure something out.
